| This was my Mother's Day present; the note inside says, "Just so you know, Dad and I love you a lot. Happy Mother's Day. --Kieran" |
He is getting so big! I love how alert and focused he is when he is awake now. He is grunting and cooing, kicking and swinging his arms around. Kieran smiled his first smile when he was five weeks old:
Like any other parents, it is now one of our greatest goals to coax that smile out of him whenever possible! Kieran has also been taking breast milk out of a bottle once a day, and he seems to be eating 3-4 ounces, depending on the time of day--he is chunking out! :)
I spend a lot of my day feeding this little guy, and with the special day yesterday, it made me think about how dependent he is on me. I realized that last Mother's Day I was pregnant with Asher, and I didn't even know it. I love how much God has taught me in the past year! Just like Kieran, I am completely dependent on my Heavenly Father for my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. But unlike Kieran, I am capable of making myself believe that I can provide these things for myself. My brief experiences as a mom have shown me that I have a desperate need that can only be fulfilled by my one true Love.
As my love grows for my husband and especially for my son--this new little person in my life--I am constantly reminded of God's love for me and awed by His faithfulness in a stubborn child like me. Life is good.

Oh my goodness Sabrina he is beautiful and I think he looks a lot like you! I am glad you had such a great first mother's day! Take care!
Ha ha, thanks! Do you think a lot of people will be bringing their kids to the reunion? I think it would be fun to see everyone's little ones. :)
