Autumnal

I don't know why, but I really like that word:  autumnal. :)

Last Saturday, our church held a little family fall festival as a way to fellowship together and reach out to our community. There were inflatables for the kiddos:

There were also some really neat areas set up with different games, experiments, crafts, face-painting, and the like:

I believe they were making lava lamps here.

Ah, the joust! Always reminiscent of fall, doncha think?

Plinko!
And, what is fall without at least one hayride?

Of course, you cannot have a gathering without food! We had a chili cook-off as well as a pie-judging contest (neither of which I participated in--I made brownies--but I did partake of them!). And hot dogs. Yum.

Our Awana group had a dunk tank for children to dunk their leaders and such. For every friend a child brought to Awana, they received one free throw at the target--hopefully achieving this:

Talk about dedication!
One of the men in our church, a chemistry professor, gave a little chemistry show for kids and their parents. There was foam, explosions, and even a gospel message through it all.

A chemical version of the wordless bracelet.
...Look at that lab coat!
It was a perfect day for being out in the sun, eating, and talking with friends. I even saw some new faces!

Thanks, Mollie! One of the Gray girls took some of them before I showed up, then I took the rest. I did edit them all...as I told someone yesterday--as long as I have a crappy camera, I am at liberty to edit photos as much as I want. :)

The tractor photo is my favorite! I'm sad I missed this, it looks like it was really fun.
